Frequently Asked Questions
Here we answer your most pressing questions about Nu-Hope and our processes. You may email your questions to info@nu-hope.com and we can include them on this page anonymously.

Adhesives and Tapes

a

How do I use Nu-Hope Adhesive?

Check out our article on how to use Nu-Hope Adhesive here.

Belts

a

How do I measure for a Nu-Hope belt?

You can reference our Belt Guide here or watch a video here!

In general, we need to know the circumference of your body around the line of the stoma. We need to know whether or not you have a  hernia and if you do, where is the stoma located in relation to the hernia, and how tall is the hernia from top to bottom?

The Belt Guide has a worksheet on the back. Complete the worksheet and email that information back to us at info@nu-hope.com.

a

How should I wash my Nu-Hope belt?

Your Nu-Hope belt will last longer if it is carefully cared for. Hand wash your belt in warm water with a mild soap and hang to dry for best results. If you choose to use harsh detergent or wash in the machine, or place in the dryer, you will decrease the life of your belt.

What is the difference between Flat Panel and Nu-Form belts?

The Flat Panel belt is designed for pouch support, to aid in the prevention of hernias, to support small reducible hernias and general support around the ostomy. The Flat Panel belt has a non-stretch panel into which the ring or opening is sewn. This panel is what provides the support and it will not conform to irregular bulges.
The Nu-Form belt is designed for non-reducible hernias, larger hernias, to aid in pouch support and for hernias that are not directly behind the stoma. The belt is made of elastic and the ring is placed directly into the elastic (instead of into the panel on the Flat Panel). This offers more flexibility around the stoma area in case of irregular protrusions and hernias, round bellies that may not go flat.

General Questions

a

Where is my order?

Please keep in mind, we do not sell directly to the public. While we may ship directly to you, the order must be placed by a supplier (Pharmacy, DME, Hospital, VA, etc.).

Please contact your supplier for the latest order information. We are bound by HIPAA laws and are not able to look up order status based on your personal information.  Our customers (your Pharmacy, DME, Hospital, VA, etc.) have asked us to not provide any order information to anyone outside of their organization.

If you are unsure of your supplier, it is the company where you purchase your pouches and other medical equipment and supplies. You may find that information on your packing slip from us in the “Bill To” field.

a

Where can I purchase Nu-Hope products?

Nu-Hope does not sell directly to the public. You can purchase our products from any Pharmacy or DME (Durable Medical Equipment supplier). Check out our Dealer Locator to find a dealer near you or an online dealer.

Insurance

a

Will my insurance cover Nu-Hope products?

Please call your insurance company to find out if your product is covered by insurance. Nu-Hope does not deal directly with insurance companies. You can find Medicare coverage codes in our Product Guide.

Order Questions

a

How long will it take to receive my order?

**We are unable to provide estimated times of arrival for your order, please call your supplier.**
It depends. Most orders will ship within 5 business days from the time Nu-Hope receives the order from your supplier. We ship FedEx Ground, which can take up to 7 days depending upon your location. Nu-Hope is located in Los Angeles, California and all items are manufactured and shipped directly from our facility.

It may take several weeks for your supplier to obtain approval from your insurance company, however, so please contact your supplier and your insurance company to see if your desired products have been approved by your insurance company.

If an item is not in-stock, we’ll have to manufacture it for you. This can take 2-3 extra days.

If you need your order to be expedited, please call your supplier immediately.

a

I need to cancel or change my order, who do I call?

If you need to cancel an item or change your order, please call your Pharmacy, DME or other medical supplier. We are not able to make changes to orders, all changes must come directly from the company who ordered from us. Please keep in mind we do not sell directly to the public, and while we may drop-ship your product directly to you, we are not able to make any changes to orders unless we receive that change from a supplier.

a

I need to expedite my order, how can I do so?

Please call your Pharmacy, DME or other supplier to expedite orders. We are unable to make any changes to orders unless we are contacted directly by the supplier.

a

How can I find out the status of my order? When will my order ship?

Please contact the Pharmacy, DME or medical supplier who ordered your product from us to find out about your order status. Nu-Hope is not authorized to give out order information to the public. While your product may ship directly from Nu-Hope, we do not sell or do business with the public.

a

Can I order directly from Nu-Hope?

If you have Medicare or Insurance, you will need to place your order with your local Pharmacy, a DME or other medical supplier. You can find a local dealer here.

You may order the Nu-Comfort Belt, Nu-Hope Adhesive or Nu-Hope It Stays directly from Nu-Hope, online only (no phone orders). Click here to visit our online store.

Pouches

a

Does Nu-Hope offer a 2-piece pouching system?

Nu-Hope only offers a 1-piece pouch at this time.

a

What does “Post-op” mean in your pouches?

Post-op refers to post-operation, and it means that one side of the pouch is clear which allows you to see your stoma as you apply the pouch to the skin. Most of our pouches are available as post-op or opaque. The opaque pouch has the comfort panel or vinyl on both sides so you do not see the stoma and output.

Returns

a

If I remove my belt from the box, may I still return it?

Because our belts are medical devices, we are unable to take them back once they have been removed from the packaging.
For all returns, please contact your supplier.

Samples

a

Do you charge for samples?

Samples from Nu-Hope are free and regular shipping via US Postal is paid for by Nu-Hope. If you are outside of the US, you will be responsible for shipping costs. Please note: we do not sample belts.

a

Do you ship samples Internationally?

We do ship samples all over the World, however, you will be responsible for the shipping costs. The samples are no charge.

a

How long will it take to receive my samples (US address)?

Generally speaking, it will take 5-10 business days to receive your samples. We ship all samples via USPS from Pacoima, California, 91331. For East Coast locations, it could take 7 days to ship a product. For locations in the Southwest, shipping may take 1-3 days. All other locations, please allow for 5 days shipping. Our orders are processed the day they are received, however, if you are ordering a sample that needs to be manufactured, it could take 2-3 extra days to ship. Once your sample order has been entered, we’ll send you an email (if you’ve provided an email) with an estimated time of arrival for your samples. If you have questions about a specific sample order, please email promo@nu-hope.com or call us at 800.899.5017.
